New folding machines for Contour
17 February 2012
According to director Operations / QA, Rolf van de Putte, this investment of Contour is contradictory to the economical tide.
The company has purchased at Trumpf Nederland 3 new TruBend 5130 machines which have been installed in september 2011 in the production facilities at the Industrieweg 20in Winterswijk.
With this the new machines replace the outdated Amada machines, which do not apply to the Operational Excellence strategy of Contour. The machines each have a camfering length of 3230 mm and have a pressure strenght of 1300KN per machine. The machines combine innovative technology and precision. With the 3 new machines Contour has expanded their TruBend machinery up to 5 machines.
The investment was already planned for the first half of 2011. However, the high workload which was noticeable at Contour the first six months caused a postponing of the positioning and putting into operation of the new machines.
