Frequently asked questions
What kind of company is Contour?
Contour manufactures and supplies sheet metal products. These can be welded assemblies, assembly units or single parts.
All the sheet metal we supply is produced specially to order for our customers. We do this according to the technical drawings that customers provide, or our engineering department designs a technical drawing together with our customer.
Because we are a supplier, our customers are other companies. In most cases, these companies do not have sheet metal production of their own. However, they need sheet metal products to assemble their end product.
Because Contour takes care of sheet metal production, our customers can focus fully on the design and final assembly of their own product. They do not have to build a sheet metal factory for that.

How large is Contour?
Contour has approx. 200 FTE and about 17,000 m² of floor space. This makes it a relatively large metal company compared to other suppliers.

What are sheet metal parts?
Sheet metal parts are products made from sheet metal. They are made by sheet metal fabrication, for example by laser cutting, punching, bending and pem inserting.

What is sheet metal fabrication?
Sheet metal fabrication is a process for working sheet metal. Examples of sheet metal fabrication processes are laser cutting and bending. Sheet metal fabricators typically buy stacks of large, unprocessed flat sheets as base material. By carrying out one or more sheet metal fabrication processes on this base material, individual sheet metal products are produced. For example, smaller products are first cut by laser cutting or punching. These cut products can then be bent.
