Internships in Winterswijk
At Contour in Winterswijk, several internship and thesis assignments are completed every year. Students are active in our metal company at MBO (Dutch senior secondary vocational education, levels 1 to 4), HBO (university of applied sciences) and WO (research university) level.
For MBO metal students, we always have internships available as a sheet metal worker, welder or metal fabricator. For HBO thesis students and interns, we work together to devise a project assignment that fits the student’s wishes well.
At Contour, we work with various schools and educational institutions. All our colleagues are therefore used to having students around.

Internship project: follow-up feasibility study on 3D laser welding
Level: HBO
Recently, a mechanical engineering student researched the possibilities of 3D laser welding, focusing on the technical configuration of a 3D laser welding machine. A follow-up assignment would zoom in further on the financial and commercial side.
Internship project: feasibility of using cobots
Level: HBO mechatronics or HBO mechanical engineering
At Contour Covering Technology, we are making a push toward automation. For 2 years now, we have been using cobots for various steps in our process.
After you have done the preliminary research, you start devising and creating a business case and an implementation plan.
Internship project: the future of energy at Contour Covering Technology
Level: HBO mechanical engineering, energy engineering minor
We are looking for a student to research the energy flows within Contour.
You will carry out a general study of the whole of Contour and make an overview of the largest energy and power consumers. Then you shift the focus to a specific department, so that you can recommend and/or implement an improvement measure there.
Internship project: building a tool catalog
Level: HBO mechatronics, HBO industrial engineering and management, HBO mechanical engineering
For this assignment, we are looking for someone who can set up a populated tool catalog, ready for use, that meets the wishes of the various stakeholders.
Prefer a BBL apprenticeship?
Do you want to combine work and study and earn a salary right away? That is possible! If you are enthusiastic and want to work in the metal industry or in logistics, we can offer you a BBL apprenticeship (BBL, a work-study apprenticeship with an employment contract).
