Partnerships with schools and universities
Contour has a good partnership with schools and programs in the region. We enjoy passing on our enthusiasm for technology to students of all levels. We regularly organize information evenings, tours and workshops.
During a company visit, our company supervisors can give a presentation, followed by a tour of our production departments. We can also run workshops where students make a workpiece that they can take home.
Besides giving tours, we attend internship fairs and offer internships and BBL apprenticeships (BBL, a work-study apprenticeship with an employment contract).

Anton Tijdink Techniekopleidingen
Contour is a member company of Anton Tijdink Techniekopleidingen. This school grew out of the business community. About 30 years ago, a number of entrepreneurs joined forces and started training people themselves. For 30 years now, the school has successfully trained level 2 and 3 students in metal. The program has two variants: a BBL apprenticeship, where you are employed by one of the affiliated member companies, or a BOL program (school-based vocational training with internships), where you do internships at affiliated member companies and, for example, train to become a sheet metal worker or metal fabricator.
Graafschap College
Several Contour Winterswijk colleagues are doing a BBL apprenticeship at the Graafschap College. Contour has also welcomed several interns from the Graafschap College, and we give tours to students. The Graafschap College offers programs in more than twenty fields. This variety is also reflected in the internships at Contour; we have supervised students from both technical and business studies.
Saxion University of Applied Sciences
We have supervised interns from various programs at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, including industrial engineering and management and facility management.
HAN University of Applied Sciences
Several HAN students have also completed an internship project at Contour, including students of mechanical engineering and business economics. Contour employees have also developed themselves further by completing a part-time HBO (university of applied sciences) degree at HAN.
University of Twente
Students of business administration and industrial engineering and management at the University of Twente have written both bachelor’s (BSc) and master’s (MSc) theses under the supervision of Contour Winterswijk.
Gerrit Komrij College
The Gerrit Komrij College is less than a five-minute walk from Contour. We regularly give information evenings and tours to the various classes of this secondary school. Both students and parents are welcome. We do this in cooperation with Anton Tijdink.
Schaersvoorde College
We recently welcomed a group of VMBO (pre-vocational secondary education) students from the Schaersvoorde College. For this day, we put together a fun program to introduce the students to our organization and to get them excited about technology. The program consisted of a presentation, a tour and making a workpiece under the guidance of our workplace trainers.
