BBL apprenticeships: metal and logistics
At Contour, we continuously start BBL apprenticeships (BBL, a work-study apprenticeship with an employment contract) with enthusiastic employees. We offer BBL apprenticeships to keep colleagues with us for the long term. Many of our best employees started in a BBL apprenticeship and are now active in the sheet metal, welding or logistics departments.
In a BBL apprenticeship, you combine work with an MBO (Dutch senior secondary vocational education, levels 1 to 4) study. You usually work four days a week at Contour and spend one day a week at school. As a BBL apprentice, you are treated as a full colleague. You have an employment contract with Contour, so you also earn a salary.
If you choose a BBL apprenticeship, you prefer to learn in practice. You want to develop further in your field and contribute to the company at the same time.
Under the guidance of a workplace trainer, you start work in a production department. You work in a team of specialized professionals on products for our customers. From your colleagues you learn the practical tricks of the trade. The products you make end up in, among other things, medical equipment and machines that produce the chips in your cell phone. That is why you have a job with responsibility from the start.
A BBL apprenticeship is a fantastic way to develop yourself and gain practical experience.

Why a BBL apprenticeship?
1. Find out where your interests lie
Technology has a lot to offer, we know that all too well. But what suits you best, only you know. With us you can take various BBL apprenticeships at MBO levels 2 to 4, including sheet metal worker, metal fabricator, mechatronics or logistics. We look at your personal interests and wishes and find a fitting position, or combine several positions. That way you always find a suitable challenge.
2. Earn a salary right away and we pay your training costs
When you start, you join us right away and receive a starting salary that fits your age and education level. Do you work in shifts? Then a shift allowance comes on top. You also get 27 vacation days and 13 ATV days (working time reduction days). And of course, after your training you receive a permanent position right away.
3. You are prepared for the future
“Well begun is half done.” You are well introduced to the work and guided by an experienced colleague. We give you the time to make your tasks your own in the way that suits you. We also encourage multi-skilled deployment: besides press brake bending, do you want to learn welding, assembly, powder coating or operating the robotic press brake? That is possible! We would welcome that! That way you can go in any direction in technology.
4. We are an innovative and dynamic organization
With approx. 200 FTE we are professionally organized, but our lines of communication are short and we have a pleasant, informal working atmosphere. We think it is important to be a frontrunner in innovation and we keep investing in it. We like to work hard, but we also like to have fun.

We are a training company recognized by SBB (the Dutch organization for cooperation between vocational education and industry). We ensure a good and safe workplace. As a student, you are assigned a personal workplace trainer who guides you during the BBL apprenticeship.
