Internship project
Recently, a mechanical engineering student researched the possibilities of 3D laser welding at Contour Covering Technology. His assignment focused more on the technical configuration of a 3D laser welding machine. A follow-up assignment would zoom in further on the financial and commercial side of a 3D laser welding machine. Topics to look at include:
- The utilization rate of the machine (percentage/hours from our own organization and possibly from third parties)
- Calculating the machine rate (in line with the market)
- Calculating the ROI
- Writing a business case
- In short, a further elaboration of the feasibility study
Internship allowance
If you do an internship at Contour, you receive an appropriate allowance for it. You also receive good supervision from an experienced subject-matter supervisor and a general supervisor during your educational internship.
Recognized training company
Contour is a training company recognized by SBB (the Dutch organization for cooperation between vocational education and industry). We provide a good and safe workplace. As a student, you are assigned a personal workplace trainer who supervises you during the BBL apprenticeship (a work-study apprenticeship with an employment contract).

You are a motivated student of mechanical engineering or industrial engineering and management. While carrying out this assignment, you can work independently and, when needed, you are a team player. You show initiative, and when things get stuck, you are the persistent type who goes the extra mile and makes the project a success.
