The colleagues in our welding department are not standing still! By using the electrode of this ABB welding robot as a smart sensor, we can now automatically weld a wider selection of products.
The WireSense function determines the exact location of the weld seam before the welding process. The welding program is corrected automatically with this feedback. During welding, the SeamTracking function then corrects the weld path for an optimal result. With the combination of these two Fronius technologies, installed by EQIN EU, the welding robot can automatically absorb small dimensional differences in the sheet metal.
