New at Contour: handheld laser welding

Contour has introduced handheld laser welding as a new welding technique. Handheld laser welding is an effective and efficient way to join thin materials accurately and strongly.

Handheld laser welding uses laser light from a fiber laser, aimed at the metal surface with a welding torch. The technology avoids contamination and distortion of the material by minimizing the heat input. The weld seam hardly needs any post-processing.

Handheld laser welding also suits various metals, such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum and brass. The laser beam can also be used to clean the weld seam, which makes a clean result and strong bonding possible.

In our view, handheld laser welding offers many advantages over traditional welding techniques: minimal distortion, no or limited post-processing, flatness retained, high accuracy, speed, a clean result, strong bonding and efficiency.

We are pleased to introduce this new welding technology and look forward to the benefits it can offer our customers and the industry as a whole.
