A warm welcome and a flying start

“Contour? A great company! What I liked most from the start, and still do, is the open atmosphere and how approachable everyone is. I still remember the introduction program well. You get the chance right away to get to know different departments. That way you don’t just understand what your colleagues do, you also see the complete picture of how our products come about. Those looks behind the scenes, for example at the quality department, gave me real respect for every link in the process. And to be honest, those modern machines like the automated warehouse and the punch-laser combination machine (also take a look at the vacancy for combination machine operator!) make an impression right away!”

From planning to the perfect weld: a day full of dynamics

“That open culture meant I quickly found my feet as a welding robot programmer. My day? It often starts with a look at the dashboard: which jobs are waiting for a perfect weld? I dive into the systems, look up the specifications and jigs, collect the parts and then… action! The nice thing is that we run many small, varied series. One job is done in a few hours, another sometimes takes two days of focus. That keeps the work challenging and dynamic. And yes, sometimes an adjustment or a smart repair is needed. Then my creativity and technical skill come in perfectly. Great!”

Freedom, responsibility and teamwork

“What makes this job extra cool is the freedom you get. I don’t just run existing programs, I also get the room to optimize them myself. Do I see a chance to improve a welding method? Then I can get started on it! That responsibility is great.
And if I get stuck, or just want to talk over the smartest approach? Then a few direct colleagues and I sit down and brainstorm. Together we always find the best solution. That is a real kick and shows that we really do it together here!”
