Internship project: workplace safety

Contour Covering Technology is a supplier of sheet metal parts and assemblies. Contour offers many capabilities: sheet metal fabrication, welding, powder coating, assembly, cleanroom and adhesive bonding.

Each year, Contour produces around 8,000 different items in 20,000 production orders. Our focus is on small to medium-sized series. Contour’s mission is to supply the manufacturing industry with high-quality sheet metal parts and assemblies. These include cabinets, enclosures, frames, machine covers and complete (electro)mechanical modules.

To supply our customers in the manufacturing industry with the latest products and techniques, knowledge and skills are needed, and it is up to Contour to keep developing constantly. As an intern or thesis student, you can play a part in that! Many internship and thesis projects have already been completed successfully in recent years.

Internship project

In recent years, Contour Covering Technology has grown enormously. Within a few years, there is a new pickling line, a new office building, a new combination laser machine, a new robotic press brake, two new cobots and more.

To ensure (fire) safety across all processes, we are looking for a safety and security management student to research how we are doing on the Safety Culture Ladder and where we can still improve.

Internship allowance

If you do an internship at Contour, you receive an appropriate allowance for it. You also receive good supervision from an experienced subject-matter supervisor and a general supervisor during your educational internship.

From the innovation hubs you receive training in writing a project plan and your research. There is also a presentation training every semester. This is how we prepare you for the real work at school!

Who are we looking for?

You are a motivated student of safety and security management. While carrying out this assignment, you can work independently and, when needed, you are a team player. You show initiative, and when things get stuck, you are the persistent type who goes the extra mile and makes the project a success!

You are creative and proactive. We are always open to new ideas, so we are open to them from students too!

Contour supplies specialist sheet metal parts, mainly for the high-tech industry. Think of parts for chip machines, medical equipment and logistics systems. With approx. 200 FTE in Winterswijk, we are a well-organized and innovative company. We have a modern machine park, our own powder coating installation and even a cleanroom.
