You are responsible for operating our modern Trumpf TruMatic 7000 punch laser and flatbed laser cutting machines entirely on your own. All machines are linked to a fully automatic sheet storage system.

The role

You stand at the very start of our production process. You cut large metal sheets into high-quality components, using your expertise and our advanced punch laser and flatbed laser cutting machines.

This produces perfectly cut, flat components. They are the building blocks of our production. After cutting they pass through the whole factory: bending, welding, assembly and so on. In the end they become complex end products for our customers in the high-tech industry. Think of parts for the chip industry, hospitals and parcel sorting centers.

Colleague speaking

“You are responsible for quite a large machine park, which is something I appreciate. Here they let you work independently fairly quickly. That trust feels good.”

What does your day look like?

As a CNC punch laser operator at Contour you hold a key position. You carry great responsibility. Your work is literally the foundation of our entire production process. Without your input, other departments stand still. Your perfectly cut parts are crucial. This makes your role indispensable.

Your tasks:

  • Starting point of production: You cut large metal sheets into accurate, flat components. These sheets come from our suppliers. This is the very first processing step. Your precision determines the success of the entire process that follows.
  • Master of an automated system: You operate and set up our modern Trumpf machines (2x TruMatic 7000 punch lasers, 1x TruLaser Center 7030). But you also manage the entire automated line. The cutting machines are linked to a fully automatic FMS sheet storage system (STOPA storage system). This system automatically supplies material and removes cut products. Your skill keeps everything running smoothly.
  • Logistics and planning as second nature: Your work is more than cutting technology. You optimize order planning. You determine the smartest sequence and sheet layout (nesting). Your planning keeps our machines productive day and night.
  • Tooling and system in top condition: You manage and maintain the cutting tools. You make sure they are always sharp. You also keep all system components of this production line working optimally. You solve small malfunctions on your own.
  • Unwavering focus on quality: You continuously monitor the high quality of the cut products. Every part must be perfect. This lays the foundation for the quality of the end product for our high-tech customers.

Who are we looking for?

Are you an experienced CNC expert? Or a technical talent who is eager to learn the trade? We would like to meet you.

What do you bring?

  • Technical insight and overview: You have a natural aptitude for technology, machines and systems. You see through processes and understand how components work together.
  • Eye for detail (accuracy): Precision is second nature to you. A millimeter of difference has an impact for our customers. Quality awareness is in your DNA.
  • Organizational and problem-solving ability: You are good at planning. You keep an overview of a complex installation. You see a challenge in optimizing and solving malfunctions. You take responsibility.
  • Eagerness to learn (applying knowledge): You want to develop your knowledge. Think of CNC technology, materials, tooling and logistics. You quickly apply new insights. No experience? No problem! We train you in-house. An MBO work and thinking level (level 3 or higher) is a good basis.
  • Team player (collaboration and flexibility): You like working together with colleagues. You contribute to smooth production and a good atmosphere. You are flexible and adapt to a dynamic environment.

Colleague speaking

“When I tell people at parties that I work at Contour, I explain what we make. I tell them that we make, for example, complex enclosures and parts for ASML chip machines. People often do not realize everything that goes into that.”
