No day is the same. Each time you work on different products, different types of welds and different order lengths.

The role

Are you a TIG welder with a passion for precision and quality work? Do you want to be part of an organization where the employees are real professionals? And do you want to work where your input is valued? Then check out this job opening!

With us, everything revolves around precision, quality and smart technology. What makes us truly special is our clean, organized and accurate production process. From design to logistics handling, everything happens under one roof. Think of frames, cabinets, enclosures and machine cladding: at Contour they know exactly what it takes to deliver technical quality. With modern, automated equipment, we ensure an efficient production process in which craftsmanship and innovation go hand in hand.

What your day looks like.

At the start of your working day, between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. (day shift), you ease into the day with a cup of coffee or tea. In the ERP system, you see which tasks are planned for you. You receive several work orders with clear drawings, which you can start on independently. You collect the material you need yourself from the warehouse, or it is already waiting for you in the department. You work with high-quality parts made of stainless steel (approx. 80%) and aluminum (approx. 20%), usually with sheet thicknesses between 0.8 and 1.5 mm. But thicker sheet material up to 5 mm can occasionally occur as well. Most of the time you work on handy-sized assemblies at your own welding table, and now and then on larger structures of up to 2.5 meters. These are mainly small series of up to +/- 100 pieces or one-off prototypes. So there is more than enough room for varied work!

The first product you make is always checked by a colleague. Does everything look good? Then you can continue with the rest of the order. When you are done, you check yourself once more that everything meets the requirements. With hand tools, you check that the dimensions and finish are exactly right. You work very precisely, to within half a millimeter. That is why it matters that you work neatly and of course have an eye for detail!

What we offer you.

You will work in a modern, well-equipped welding department where everything is set up to make your work as pleasant as possible. Together with a team of 18 enthusiastic colleagues, with an average age between 30 and 35, you work in an environment where craftsmanship and collegiality take center stage. So you can set up your own workstation entirely to your liking. The workstations are fitted with hoists, so you are physically spared and do not suffer from back problems. At Contour, employee well-being comes first; they invest in good working conditions because they want to keep you in the team for the long term.

  • Security: A one-year contract with the clear intention of a permanent contract. Do you have relevant experience? Then a permanent contract can be discussed right away!
  • Good primary and secondary employment conditions: Good salary depending on your age and experience, travel expense allowance, Metalektro collective labor agreement, pension scheme via Pensioenfonds PME.
  • Plenty of free time: no fewer than 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days (working time reduction days) for a good work-life balance.
  • Personal growth and development: at Contour we invest not only in the newest and best machines, but also in your development. You get plenty of room to follow training and courses, so you can keep growing in your trade. And do you have a knack for working with welding robots or cobots? Then they only encourage that; your ambition is valued and supported here.
  • An attractive profit sharing scheme that can go up to 15%.
  • Staff outings: with us it is not only hard work, there is also room for fun. The staff association organizes a fun activity for the whole team twice a year, always well arranged and with only a small personal contribution. In addition, the summer and Christmas holidays are kicked off with a friendly drink.

Who are you? (What we are looking for)

You are a true tradesperson through and through. You also have:

  • A pro at TIG welding (welding certificates are a nice plus, not a must!).

  • Technical insight: technical drawings.

  • Accuracy: you are handy with measuring tools such as a caliper and a protractor.

  • A feel for material: you have knowledge of steel, stainless steel and aluminum and an affinity with thin sheet metal (0.5 – 6 mm).

  • Practical and smart: MBO working and thinking level. As a starter too, you are very welcome to learn (more of) the trade with us!

  • A top colleague: flexible, independent and you like to think along
